Applications
Parking facilities
LED displays are increasingly popular for telling how many spaces are available
on each level of a parking garage. Sensors located at entrances and exits tally
cars that are entering and leaving parking levels.
Freeways/Expressways
LED displays are placed on freeways, expressways, tollways, and other routes
of travel to show point-to-point travel times, note areas of traffic accidents
and congestion. LED displays are even used as an alert system indicating license
plates and vehicle descriptions in cases of abductions and car thefts.
Toll booths
Use LED displays to communicate toll information, lane closures and other useful
information.
Transportation schedules
Electronic displays have unlimited uses in the transportation industry. They
have long been used in airports to provide departure and arrival information.
Bus, rail and subway terminals use them to indicate departure information such
as destination and routes over shelters, terminals and gates. When interfaced
with GPS solutions, a display at a bus stop can indicate the time until the
next bus will arrive. Subway systems ease passenger anxiety by indicating the
next stop on displays placed at the front end of each car.
